ESG Integration Policy

We believe that integrating ESG considerations at the earliest stages of a company's lifecycle is the most effective way to prevent complications later and to build companies that create lasting positive impact. Our two-element integration policy covers:

Management

  • Team training on ESG principles and impact assessment
  • Investment Committee education and ESG scoring integration
  • Transparency reporting to LPs on ESG performance

Investment

  • ESG due diligence as a standard part of deal assessment
  • Monitoring of ESG trends and sector-level risks
  • Performance reporting on portfolio ESG metrics

Critical Ventures does not invest in companies operating in the following sectors, regardless of financial return potential:

UN Sustainable Development Goals

We actively seek portfolio companies that contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals — particularly those that create new employment, develop and implement transformative technologies, and drive economic growth in underserved markets. We believe deep tech and enterprise software are among the most powerful levers available for achieving SDG targets at scale.

SFDR Disclosure (EU Regulation 2019/2088)

Critical Ventures currently does not consider principal adverse sustainability impacts on investment decisions within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2019/2088 (the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation). We acknowledge the significance of this consideration and are actively building the evaluation structures required to do so. We will make the relevant information available once this process is complete.
